Sheryn Regis: 'I am a lesbian'

Sheryn Regis has come out to admit to a long-whispered speculation.

Via Ogie Diaz' popular vlog, the singer revealed she is indeed a lesbian as rumored.

She said both her ex-partner Earl Echiverri and daughter Sweety, know about it.

They are still married, with her daughter living with Earl in the US.

In the vlog, Sheryn recounted how she came out to her husband and child.

“Sabi ko sa kanya, ‘Tito Earl, I am a lesbian. I’m living a lie. Not just to you, not just to the family, a lie sa sarili ko rin. Kasi dine-deny ko eh, di ko siya pinagbigyan, kaya siguro ako nagka depression, nagkasakit ako, sinubok ako ng buhay. Kaya parang feeling ko, ‘Bakit hindi ko sabihin?’ Baka, bukas, wala na ako, di ko pa rin ma-fulfill yung gusto ko, na sabihin kung ano talaga ako.”

Sheryn then related how her daughter reacted: “‘Oh well, I knew it mommy, but it doesn’t make you less of a person, it doesn’t make you less of a mom,' 'Wag mo muna divorce si daddy, I don’t want to be a child without a mom and a dad na magkasama.'”

Sheryn is now in a relationship with YouTuber Mel de Guia.
