Lineman dies while restoring power in Negros Oriental on Christmas Day
BACOLOD CITY – A lineman, who chose to work on Christmas Day to restore power to residents of Tanjay City, Negros Oriental, died after he was electrocuted on Dec. 25.
Negros Oriental Electric Cooperative II (Noreco II), in a statement, identified their employee as Ronald Gallarde, 31, who was part of the clearing and restoration team in the said city that day.

Gallarde was electrocuted while working to restore power in Lomboy, Barangay Tugas, Tanjay City, after the damage brought by Super Typhoon Odette in the province last week.
“Despite it being Christmas day, the teams were working hard to hasten power restoration in the coverage area,” Noreco said.
“We are deeply saddened by the death of our warrior of light,” the power firm said.
Gallarde is survived by his wife and three children.
