The Antipolo City local government continues to ramp up its efforts in helping its disabled residents and non-residents return to their normal lives with the launch of its rehabilitation program that aims to give them the proper treatment amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dante Carag, 41, a resident of Brgy. Cupang, was involved in an accident on Oct. 14, 2020 which left his right foot wounded. His wound was badly infected and led to amputation.
He was forced to quit working and rely only on his small monthly pension and salary of one of his children who is working as a construction worker to support their family.
Carag was given a new ray of hope after the City Social Welfare Department (CSWD) brought him to the doctor to get his measurements for his new prosthetic leg on Tuesday as part of its rehabilitation program.
Another program beneficiary is Christian Bondad, 42, a resident of Brgy. Muntindilaw which was also involved in an accident in 2012 that led to the amputation of his right leg

Bondad continued to work as a street food vendor and helper to support his family.
He said it had always been his wish to be able to walk again. However, his income is not enough for him to purchase a prosthetic leg.
Bondad saw a social media post of the city government after it helped another amputee, Lennin Arguelles.
This prompted him to ask for help from the city government in buying his own prosthetic leg.
The CSWD brought Bondad to the specialist to get his measurements for his new prosthetic leg.

"Para naman sa ibang PWD na may kaparehas na kondisyon gaya ni Tatay Christian at Tatay Dante, taga Antipolo man o hindi, may pag-asa pong naghihintay. Mayroon po tayong prosthetic leg o "Exoskeletal Transfemoral Prosthesis" (upper knee) at "Exoskeletal Transtibial Prosthesis" (lower knee) para sa mga nangangailangan nito (For those PWDs who have the same condition as Tatay Christian and Tatay Dante, regardless jf you're a resident of Antipolo or not, there is always hope waiting for you. We have prosthetic legs or "Exoskeletal Transfemoral Prosthesis" (upper knee) and "Exoskeletal Transtibial Prosthesis" (lower knee) for those who need it," the local government unit (LGU) said.
