A fourth case of the Omicron coronavirus disease (COVID-19), and higher positivity and more cases in Metro Manila, and not a few are hoping and praying that things won’t turn for the worse.

But a piece of good news comes in the form of 220 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines, which has been stockpiled by the government for the continuation of its vaccination program in 2022.

The number of fatalities because of Typhoon Odette further increased to 389, even as damage to infrastructure and agriculture has reached P22 billion, according to government authorities.

The Philippines has also lifted the ban on open-pit mining.
