A passenger jeep traveling along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City fell on its side after one of its tires suddenly burst early Monday morning, Dec. 27.
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Traffic Enforcement Unit (DTEU) Sector 5 said that the rear left tire of the Isuzu jitney, driven by Marlo Cajusay, 42, from Brgy. Payatas, Quezon City, burst at the corner of Commonwealth Ave. and Samonte St. in Brgy. Holy Spirit at around 2:45 a.m.
According to a DZBB report, the incident happened while Cajusay and his seven companions were traveling slowly on their way to Cavite, where they intended to sell mattresses.
The jeep was pulled out of the road at around 4:00 a.m.
The occupants sustained minor injuries but refused to be treated when they were brought to East Avenue Medical Center, police said.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the incident.
