DepEd recalls achievements, ensures continuity of programs for next administration
Education Secretary Leonor Briones recalled the department’s achievements and ensured the continuity of the programs and plans for the next administration.

“Mahalagang mahalaga na malaman ng mga kapamilya natin sa DepEd at sa buong bansa kung ano ang nagawa, kung ano ang accomplishments ng ating department, at kung ano ang legacy na iiwan natin sa susunod na secretary ng DepEd (It is very important for our family members at DepEd and across the country to know what has been accomplished, what the accomplishments of the department are, and what legacy we will leave to the next secretary of DepEd),” said Briones during the 2021 National General Assembly of the Department of Education (DepEd) held on Dec. 21.
Among other projects, Briones said that the most notable were the establishment of the National Academy of Sports and the Education Futures Program.
The Education chief likewise reiterated that DepEd has launched several campaigns as part of its initiative in ending the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
Briones also shared the importance of learning from each other, mentioning that the Central Office has learned a lot from its field offices in terms of crisis management.
Meanwhile, in her last general assembly as DepEd’s secretary, Briones urged the members of the DepEd Executive Committee to actively manage and continue the accomplishments made by the department for the last five years.
