Car hits EDSA bus carousel concrete barriers near Kamuning; driver hurt

An accident caused by a car that hit multiple concrete barriers along the southbound lane of Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) near Kamuning in Quezon City resulted in early morning traffic on Monday, Dec. 27.

According to a DZBB report, a white Hyundai Accent crashed into three concrete barriers while going down the Kamuning Flyover southbound, causing heavy traffic all the way to Sct. Albano.

Michael Racelis of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Metrobase said that the vehicle is already being towed while the unidentified driver was rushed to the nearest hospital after experiencing headache and body pain after the accident.

Racelis added that due to the accident, the EDSA bus carousel is not passable due to the debris from the vehicle and the destroyed barriers.

Passengers waiting for buses at the Nepa Q-Mart were seen outside the bus lane as officials from the MMDA, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), and the Inter Agency Council for Traffic (IACT) tried to manage the traffic caused by the mishap.
