BTS' Jungkook, actress Lee Yu-bi deny they are dating

K-pop idol group BTS member Jungkook, 24, and actress Lee Yu-bi, 31, have denied they are dating.

This is after Korean YouTube channel “Sojang” uploaded a video on Dec. 23 claiming that the two celebrities are dating, presenting alleged “9 dating evidences collected over the past year.”

Big Hit Music, BTS’ agency, denied the dating rumor, telling Korean media, “It is not true.”

"The dating rumors between BTS' Jungkook and Lee Yu-bi are groundless. They have never met each other and they do not know each other,” said Lee Yu-bi’s agency, Y-Bloom Entertainment.

Lee Yu-bi is the daughter of actress Kyeon Mi-ri, who is famous for playing the role of Lady Choi in the hit drama “Jewel in the Palace.” She is also the sister of actress Lee Da-in, the girlfriend of actor Lee Seung-gi.

The YouTube channel claimed that Jungkook and Lee Yu-bi have known each other since 2018.

“Lee Yu-bi posted on Instagram that she likes Jungkook's solo song ‘Euphoria.’ I think they've been showing off that they're dating too much,” it claimed.

The channel said Lee Yu-bi posted purple hearts on her Instagram Story. Another incident, it claimed, was a small tattooed arm people saw in her Instagram post. When someone asked if it was Jungkook, she deleted the post.

It said last Dec. 16, Jungkook was released from his 10-day quarantine (as required for arriving passengers in Korea).

“That night, Lee Yu-bi posted a picture of going out somewhere on her Instagram Story,” the channel claimed. It also said Lee Yu-bi and Jungkook have the same bracelets.

Another claim is that Yu-bi said a lot of things on Instagram that allegedly pertained to Jungkook such as that her “ideal type is a man with pretty eyes” and that her favorite place is Busan, Jungkook’s hometown.

When she was asked which month is the best, she said it is September, Jungkook’s birth month and that her favorite color is purple.

Jungkook's older brother and Lee Yu-bi's younger sister follow each other on Instagram, the channel added as “evidence.”
