A 4.4-magnitude earthquake hit the waters off Agno, Pangasinan at around 8:12 a.m, said the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) on Sunday, Dec. 26.

The epicenter of the quake was traced 73 kilometers (km) northwest of Agno, Pangsinan. It was tectonic in origin, which means it was caused by the movement of an active fault near the area.
In its initial report, Phivolcs said that no instrumental intensities were recorded.
The agency likewise said it does not expect damage and aftershocks following the quake. (Charie Mae F. Abarca)
