PRC cancels written phase of licensure exam for optometrists in Cebu

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has cancelled the written phase of the Optometrist Licensure Examination in Cebu that was supposed to be conducted this month due to the "devastating aftermath" of typhoon Odette.
"The Professional Regulation Commission informs the public that the December 27, 28, and 29, 2021 Optometrists Licensure Examination (OLE) – Written Phase in Cebu has been CANCELLED due to the devastating aftermath of Super Typhoon Odette," the agency said in a statement.
The PRC said that the typhoon has "resulted in loss of internet connection and electricity, both of which are essential in the preparation and conduct of the licensure examination."
"Affected examinees in Cebu shall be included in the list of examinees on the next scheduled examination without forfeiture of their examination fees," the PRC said.
Meanwhile, the PRC noted that the OLE-Written Phase in National Capital Region (NCR), Davao, and Rosales shall proceed as scheduled on Dec. 27, 28, and 29.
For other queries and concerns, the PRC encouraged the public to send an email to its Licensure Division at [email protected] and [email protected].
