Mobile wallet GCash now recruits micro entrepreneurs as partner-outlet-remittance centers, supplementing their earnings by at least P10,000 monthly.
The move makes digital financial services accessible to more Filipinos, at the same time, provides more income to small businesses.
As "GCash Pera Outlets", sari-sari store owners earn extra and their patrons in the area don’t have to travel far to a "bayad center" or convenience store, GCash executives maintained.
People can avail all of what GCash has to offer, such as Cash In, Cash Out, Pay Bills and Send Money, all through sari-sari stores.
In addition, non-GCash users can claim GCash Padala sent to them through the sari-sari stores' Pera Outlet.
GCash Pera Outlet operators can get an increased wallet size of up to P500,000 and cash in is free via GCash agents as well as commission or bonuses from each transaction.
Signing up is simple too, because it’s all done through the GCash app.
The micro entrepreneur only need to look for “GCash PO” under business services on his GCash dashboard, fill up the application form and submit his business registration.
GCash will approve the application within 5-7 business days. Once approved, the entrepreneur is assigned a GCash distributor agent who will deliver tarps and posters, so everyone in the area will know they can go to his store for GCash services.
Through the GCash app, customers can buy load; pay bills at over 600 partner billers in the app; pay at more than 7,000 online partners; send and receive money anywhere in the Philippines.
GCash users can also pay using QR codes at over 130,000 partner merchants nationwide; save money while earning interest; and invest money at local and global funds -- all through the convenience of their smartphones.
GCash is part of the portfolio companies of 917Ventures, the largest corporate incubator in the Philippines wholly-owned by Globe Telecom, Inc.
This year, GCash was recognized for its financial inclusion programs which benefited more than 40 million Filipinos.
