Poll survey top finisher Cayetano rewarded for efforts in helping calamity, pandemic victims
For showing genuine concern for Filipinos adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and various calamities, former Speaker and Taguig-Pateros Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano is expected to be handsomely rewarded with solid support in the 2022 senatorial race.

This can be gleaned from a preview of the 2022 election as indicated in the results of a recent poll survey conducted by Pulse Asia where Cayetano emerged as the leading senatorial candidate.
In a radio interview, Cayetano said he did not expect the positive results that the Pulse Asia survey indicated although he admitted that any move a politician makes after filing the certificate of candidacy can be misinterpreted as “pangangampanya” or campaigning.
“Hindi ko po talaga inaasahan na tumaas sa survey ng no.1, (I didn’t expect a rise to no. 1 in the survey), at least at this time,” said Cayetano.
“Nakikita mo naman naka-focus talaga kami sa efforts noong Bayanihan, so it’s greatly appreciated. (As you can see our efforts are really focused on the Bayanihan),” he noted.
“So ang aking Christmas prayer talaga (So my Christmas prayer really) is: let us be a blessing to each other, especially po sa mga lugar na doble, triple, quadruple po ang tama. (in places that were most),” the former House leader said.
Cayetano has been strongly lobbying for the distribution of P10,000 cash aid to all Filipinos as a result of the severe economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
As part of the campaign, he and congressmen who support the proposal have combined their resources to distribute P10,000 to the needy.
The most recent Pulse Asia senatorial poll survey ranked the No. 1 among the senatorial aspirants. He had a 100 percent awareness percentage and was likely to be voted by 64.1 percent of those polled.
Aside from his advocacy for the release of P10,000 for all Filipino families, Cayetano has also strongly opposed the grant of legislative franchises to two firms operating on line cockfight betting.
He is joined in the anti-Esabong campaign by his wife, Taguig Rep. Lani Cayetano and Deputy Speaker and CIBAC Partylist Rep. Bro. Eddie Villanueva, who called on his followers not to vote for legislators who supported the legislative franchise bills of E-sabong operators.
