PH Science High School releases list of 1,667 RACE qualifiers for SY 2022-2023

The Philippine Science High School System (PSHS System) released the official list of 1,667 Requirements for Admission, Criteria and Evaluation (RACE) qualifiers for School Year (SY) 2022-2023, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) said Friday, Dec. 24.

DOST Secretary Fortunato “Boy” T. de la Peña, chairperson of the PSHS System Board of Trustees, said 1,667 applicants have been qualified to the PSHS System-RACE as incoming Grade 7 scholars.

The official list of qualified incoming Grade 7 for SY 2022-2023 for the 16 campuses of PSHS nationwide was released on Dec. 18.

“A total of 1,667 out of 10,772 applicants successfully passed a two-stage screening process to qualify for the special science secondary scholarship,” de la Peña said in a taped report on Friday, Dec. 24.

He noted that 55 percent of the qualifiers come from public schools.

De la Peña asked all qualifiers to immediately contact the Registrar or the Campus Director of the PSHS campus where they are qualified to enroll.

De la Peña announced that the deadline for slot confirmation of principal qualifiers is on January 28, 2022 for Main Campus qualifiers and Feb. 11, 2022 for regional campus qualifiers.

PSHS campuses shall announce specific schedules of other enrollment activities, he said.

"After the deadline, PSHS will call on the alternate qualifiers for unfilled slots. Alternate qualifiers are from among the Stage 1 qualifiers.”
