At least 300 families affected by typhoon "Odette" at the Pagasa Island in the West Philippine Sea would benefit from the food items that are now being transported by personnel of the Philippine Coast Guard.
The personnel of the PCG will be giving relief supplies and drinking water to some 300 families.
Also, the PCG loaded construction materials intended for the reconstruction of the Coast Guard station in the island, which was hammered to the ground with only the flagpole as the only standing.
BRP Capones left Puerto Princesa City in Palawan, and PCG personnel also received donations of toys that will all be given to children in time for the Christmas celebration this Saturday.
On the other hand, the PCG’s BRP Malabrigo (MRRV-4402) safely transported 2,000 liters of gasoline and 16 portable generator sets from Manila to Cebu and also to Bohol from Dec. 21 to 23.
Also, a total of 830 packs of purified drinking water donated by the De La Salle University (DLSU) were also loaded aboard the vessel for immediate distribution to typhoon-stricken communities.
All the relief transport missions are in compliance with the directive of President Duterte in utilizing all available assets and resources of the national government to support the speedy rehabilitation of the affected families of typhoon "Odette".
