DSWD: More than P77.1-M worth of humanitarian aid extended to typhoon victims
More than P77.1-million worth of humanitarian assistance has been provided to the families affected by typhoon Odette, the Department of Social Welfare and Development said Thursday, Dec. 23.

Based on the DSWD’s Disaster Response Operations Monitoring and Information Center (DROMIC) report,as of 6 p.m., Dec. 23, the assistance extended to “Odette"-hit areas totals P77,146,508.95. The aid was given by the DSWD, local government units (LGUs) and non-government organizations (NGOs).
The report showed that the number of evacuee-families decreased to 75,269 or 311,180 individuals. They were taking temporary shelter in 1,380 evacuation centers.
Those families who opted to stay with their relatives or friends decreased to 70,764 or 245,476 individuals.
The DROMIC report likewise showed the continued increase in the number of families affected by Odette.
A total of 807,613 or 3,177,440 individuals have so far been affected by the typhoon.
The nine affected regions were Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan), Bicol, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, Davao, and Caraga.
Meanwhile, the DSWD reported 228,375 damaged houses. Of these, 143,100 were partially damaged and 85,275 were totally damaged.
