Manila declares half-day work for city gov't workers on Dec. 24, Dec. 31
Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso declared half-day work for city government employees on Dec. 24 and Dec. 31.
Domagoso signed Executive Order No. 50 (EO 50) on Wednesday, Dec. 22, stating that work hours in city government offices will be suspended from 1 p.m. onwards on Dec. 24 and Dec. 31.
Covered by the EO are Manila city government employees excluding frontline service offices involved in peace and order, traffic enforcement, disaster and risk reduction management, and health and sanitation.
National government offices and private companies operating within Manila can adopt EO 50 at their own discretion.
The city government made the move in line with Presidential Proclamation No. 1107 signed by President Duterte last Feb. 26, which declared Dec. 24 and Dec. 31 special working days.
