The Makati City local government on Tuesday urged its citizens anew to always observe minimum health and safety protocols despite the steady decline in the number of COVID-19 cases in Metro Manila.
On its official Facebook page, the local government unit (LGU) posted photos wherein members of the Public Safety Department (PSD) can be seen going around the barangays, public markets, and groceries.
Some of the barangays visited by the PSD included Pio del Pilar, Poblacion, Tejeros, Southside, Rizal, Pembo, Guadalupe Nuevo, and Pitogo.
They also checked roads and thoroughfares to ensure the safety of motorists and pedestrians.
The Makati Health Department (MHD) reported on Dec. 21 a steady decline in COVID-19 cases in the city, with just 16 active cases on record.
It added that the city has also tallied 44,177 recoveries and 986 deaths.
Mayor Abby Binay reminded her constituents to get vaccinated to protect themselves and their loved ones from the coronavirus and its variants especially as Christmas draws near.
