Aces hope to end slide vs Bossing; Bolts, Katropa collide
Alaska is hoping to end its two-game slide against the lowly Blackwater while Meralco and TNT collide in the second game of Wednesday’s action in the PBA Governor’s Cup at the Araneta Coliseum.

The Aces, who dropped their last two games after starting the conference with two straight wins, will battle the injury-plagued Bossing in the curtain raiser at 3 p.m., while the Bolts, led by their Panamanian import Tony Bishop, gun for win No. 2 against their sister team Tropang Giga at 6 p.m.
Alaska is looking to get back on the winning track after dropping an 81-77 decision against TNT last Friday. Import Olu Ashaolu’s 29 points and 18 rebounds were not enough as another struggle in the fourth quarter led to a second straight setback for the Aces.
Blackwater, on the other hand, will once again try to end its dry spell, now standing at 23 straight losses, without the services of its key players in Jvee Casio, Baser Amer and Joshua Torralba along with Andre Paras, Frank Golla, Mike Ayonayon, Kelly Nabong and David Semerad. The Bossing have lost their first four games in the conference.
Paul Desiderio put up 16 points, Rashawn McCarthy scored 14 while Barkley Ebona added 11 points and six rebounds for Blackwater as import Jaylen Bond struggled with nine points on 4-of-15 shooting despite grabbing 17 rebounds.
Meralco came off a smashing debut after routing Blackwater, 98-77, last week. Bishop was solid in his debut with 28 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks – something that the Katropa hope to put the clamps on if they wish to build their own win streak.
However, it wasn't a one-man show for the Bolts as Bishop had plenty of support with John Pinto and Chris Newsome unloading 18 and 11 points respectively.
TNT import Mckenzie Moore tries to finally get his offensive groove after averaging just 14.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.0 steals for the Tropang Giga in their first two games.
Moore had a quiet 13 points outing in TNT’s 81-77 win over the Aces. TNT coach Chot Reyes will be banking on his old reliables especially with Jason Castro coming off a 20-point performance to get the team's second win.
