Criminal charges have been filed against the four policemen who were accused of robbing a Japanese of P30-million in Pasig City last week.
Charged of robbery were Police Staff Sgt. Jayson Bartolome, who was wounded in a shootout with responding cops; Police Corporals Christian Jerome Reyes and Merick Desoloc; and, Patrolman Kirk Joshua Almojera. They are now under police custody.
Also charged were Aj Mary Agnas, Rowel Galan and dismissed cop Ferdinand Fallaria.
Bartolome was also charged with carnapping along with civilian John Carlo Atienza.
Police Maj. Gen. Vicente Danao, director of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), said he had already ordered the speedy resolution of the administrative cases against the four cops, who are all facing dismissal from the service.
"We will continue to cleanse our ranks. We will never tolerate these policemen and guarantee that they will be charged accordingly and immediately so that other Metro Cops will have second thoughts in doing the same," said Danao.
Danao also called on the public to cooperate regarding the suspects who are still at-large, including the dismissed cop.
Any information regarding their whereabouts, according to Danao, could be relayed to the Pasig City Police Station at 0921-892-2950 (globe), 0998-598-7880 (smart) or 8447-79-53.
