If her brother wins in the upcoming presidential election, Sen. Imee Marcos sees nothing wrong with Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. 's future relationship with the victims of the martial ;aw.
In a TV interview on Tuesday, Marcos did not directly answer whether his brother would hold a dialogue with martial law victims to heal the open wounds, but she said Marcos Jr. would instead promote unity among the Filipino people.
She also seemed to imply that what happened during the Martial Law was already a thing of the past.
"I can't speak for my brother, but the truth is, so much time has passed," she said in an ANC interview.
According to the senator, "this is a new era," so she added, "the only way to fight pandemic, to fight climate change, and to finally see economic and social developments in the Philippines is really to unify."
"As strike as it may sound, I think that's what my brother's answers would be," she said.
