Prelate collapses during Mass

Retired Novaliches Bishop Teodoro Bacani Jr collapsed while presiding a Mass on Monday, Dec. 20.

A video of the incident was shared by a number of Facebook users on social media.

Bacani was later seen in the video sitting on a chair and was even able to finish the Mass.

“Pag-paumanhin po ninyo, biglang bumigay ang aking tuhod. Nanlambot ang tuhod ko. Kagabi nga pala ay uminom ako ng konting sabaw, hindi ako nag hapunan kagabi kaya siguro, nagutom (Please accept my apologies. My knees suddenly gave out. Last night, I only had a little soup, but I didn't have dinner. This is probably why I was hungry.)" he said.

Many who saw the video prayed for the prelate.

"Let us pray for him. Today 21 Dec is his 56th sacerdotal anniversary," former senator JV Ejercito said on Facebook.

Bacani is the spiritual adviser of El Shaddai.
