Flooding alert raised due to Malabon-Navotas River navigation gate malfunction
The Malabon City government on Monday, Dec. 20, warned residents in four villages of possible flooding due to an electrical malfunction at the navigation gate or NAVGATE of the Malabon-Navotas River.
The incident, the local government, said might cause gutter-and ankle-deep flooding in Barangays Flores, San Agustin, Tañong and Gabriel Subdivision from 11 p.m. Monday (Dec. 20) to 3 a.m. Tuesday (Dec. 21).
Personnel from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority are currently working on the electrical malfunction.
It added that the City Engineering Department and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) are also prepared to assist in case the problem is not fixed on time.
