SAN FRANCISCO-- An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 jolted 38 km west of Petrolia, U.S. State of California at 20:10 GMT on Monday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 9.3 km, was determined to be at 40.315 degrees north latitude and 124.739 degrees west longitude.
No tsunami warning, advisory, watch, or threat was issued after the quake, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
"A tsunami is not expected," U.S. Tsunami Warning Centers said.
