SAN PEDRO CITY, Laguna – Ten kilos of suspected methamphetamine or shabu worth P68 million were seized in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Landayan on Friday (Dec. 17) which also led to the arrest of three suspects and the rescue of a minor.
The operation was conducted by the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group - Special Operations Unit (PDEG-SOU) National Capital Region and the local police, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
Arrested during the buy-bust were Ace Arciaga, 35; Shamewayne Darvin, 19; and Benz Gonzales, 21. One minor was rescued.
Also recovered were two P1,000 bills and eleven bundles of boodle money.
Laguna Police Acting Provincial Director Col. Rogarth B. Campo congratulated the operating units for the operation.
“We will continue to work with other units of the PNP and other law enforcement agencies within and outside the province upang tuluyan ng masawata ang illegal na droga at illegal na mga aktibidad sa ating probinsiya (to completely put an end to illegal drugs and illegal activities in our province),” Campo said in a statement.
The suspects are now under the custody of PDEG-SOU NCR and are facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
