Taguig LGU bars unvaccinated people from entering city gov't offices

Taguig has prohibited unvaccinated and partially vaccinated individuals from entering city government offices starting Dec. 1.

The Taguig Safe City Task Force issued Advisory No. 59, advising the public on the implementation of the “No Vaccination Card, No Entry” policy.

This is based on the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) Resolution No. 148-B, which took effect last Dec. 1.

The IATF resolution states that “public and private establishments, even if not required by the Guidelines on the Implementation of Alert Levels System for COVID-19 Response in Pilot Areas to accommodate only fully vaccinated individuals, may nonetheless validly refuse entry and/or deny service to individuals who remain to be unvaccinated, or are merely partially vaccinated, despite being eligible for vaccination. Provided that frontline and emergency services shall continue to render assistance to all persons regardless of vaccination status.”

According to the city government advisory, “starting 1 December 2021, only fully vaccinated individuals shall be allowed to enter all City Government offices.”

It said fully vaccinated individuals who want to enter city government offices must present Taguig Vaccination Card or Digital Vaccine Health Pass for those who got their jabs in Taguig; vaccination certificate for those who were vaccinated outside Taguig; and a valid government-issued ID with picture and address.

“The implementation of the guidelines provided above shall be closely and regularly monitored. These guidelines are subject to change, in accordance with the evaluation of the Safe City Task Force and the issuances of the IATF-EID, and other relevant national government agencies and offices,” according to the Taguig task force.

It added, “Any person in violation of these guidelines shall be penalized in accordance with Republic Act No. 11332, otherwise known as the ‘Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act’ in relation to Presidential Proclamation No. 922, Taguig City Ordinance No. 24, Series of 2020, otherwise known as the ‘New Normal Ordinance of Taguig City’ and other applicable laws and ordinances.”

“This will be without prejudice to the filing of an administrative case if the violator is a government official or employee,” it said.

As of Dec. 1, the Taguig City government has vaccinated 778,949 individuals with the first dose or 89 percent of the total population of 872,980.

In addition, 679,959 individuals in Taguig are now fully vaccinated or 78 percent of the total population.
