Shear line to bring cloudy skies, isolated rains over Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Bicol – PAGASA
The shear line, also known as the tail-end of frontal system, will bring cloudy skies, isolated rain showers, and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon), and Bicol region in the next 24 hours, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Sunday, Dec. 19.

Meanwhile, the trough or extension of typhoon Odette (international name: “Rai”) will bring cloudy skies, rain showers, and isolated thunderstorms over Kalayaan Island.
“Dito naman sa northern central Luzon, mga maulap na may mahinang pag-ulan dahil sa amihan. sa natitirang bahagi ng bansa ay bahagyang maulap hanggang sa maulap na kalangitan maliban na lamang sa mga ilang pulu-pulong pag-ulan na minsan may kasamang pag-kidlat at pagkulog (In northern and central Luzon, cloudy skies and light rains will be experienced due to the northeast monsoon. Meanwhile, the rest of the country may experience cloudy skies and isolated rains due to localized thunderstorms),” said PAGASA senior weather specialist Chris Perez.
The state weather bureau likewise reiterated that a gale warning remained in effect over the seaboards of northern and central Luzon; eastern seaboard of southern Luzon; seaboard of Lubang Island; and western seaboard of Palawan due to the northeast monsoon, locally known as “amihan.”
Fishing boats and other small sea crafts were advised not to venture out into the sea due to rough sea conditions. (Charie Mae F. Abarca)
