4 Taguig cops tagged in P30M Pasig robbery, hunt on vs dismissed cop
Gen. Dionardo Carlos, chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), ordered on Sunday, Dec. 19, has ordered the relief and immediate placement under restrictive custody the four Taguig City policemen who were accused of robbing a Japanese and his Filipina partner with P30 million in Pasig City.
Carlos identified them as Police Staff Sgt. Jayson Bartolome, Police Corporal Christian Jerome Reyes, Police Corporal Merick Desoloc and Patrolman Kirk Joshua Almojera. They are now under police custody.
Carlos said he had already ordered manhunt against two more people identified as Ferdinand Fallari, a dismissed cop, and Ruwel Galang.
"I also ordered the administrative relief of the Commander of Sub-Station 1 of Taguig City Police Station on administrative relief to preclude any possibility of undue influence in the investigation," said Carlos.
Based on the report, the four cops were among those who robbed a Japanese national when they barged into his house in Barangay Kapitolyo, Pasig City early morning of Saturday, Dec. 18.
The suspects allegedly forced Toshiro to open a vault and scooped out an estimated P30-million cash and an expensive mobile phone.
While escaping on board four motorcycles, the suspects were engaged by alert police responders triggering a brief shootout that resulted to the death of suspect John Carlo Atienza and the wounding of Bartolome.
