Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano told businesses and real property owners in the city to avail of the tax amnesty that the city government is offering up to Dec. 29.
Rubiano said the City Council passed and approved an ordinance granting amnesty in surcharges, penalties and interest incurred due to delinquencies or non-payment of business taxes, real property taxes, regulatory fees and other fees and charges.
She said granting amnesty to businesses and real property owners is the city government’s response to the socio-economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic that led to the losses, closures and non-payment of taxes.
Rubiano said the ordinance covers the owners of real properties declared for the first time subject to back taxes, and owners of any delinquent real property (land, building or machinery) with or without notice of delinquency.
She said violators of traffic rules, parking and other ordinances who have not settled their corresponding fines will only need to apply their first violation penalty and the succeeding violation fines will be deemed waived.
The mayor added the ordinance also covers those who have transactions to secure license, permit and all other services with the city, including monthly amortizations of Urban Development Housing Office (UDHO) recipient awardees.
