Makati City named most compliant LGU in Manila Bay rehab program

The City of Makati was hailed on Friday as the most compliant local government unit (LGU) in Metro Manila in implementing the Manila Bay Clean-up Rehabilitation and Preservation Program (MBCRPP).

Makati City Mayor Abby Binay shared the good news on the LGU's official Facebook page, saying the city garnered an average compliance rate of 93.7 percent which covered the city's performance for the 2nd Semester of 2020 to 1st semester of 2021.

The LGU also received a P300,000 incentive from the Department of Interior and Local Government-National Capital Region (DILG-NCR).

The DILG-NCR said that the financial grant is its support to Makati's programs, projects and activities in implementing the Supreme Court’s mandamus to clean-up, rehabilitate and preserve the Manila Bay.

The program is created to promote the rights of every citizen to a balanced and healthful ecology under the Constitution.

It also aims to promote DILG’s continued compliance to the mandate to implement the program.
