K-pop superstars BTS’ RM returned to South Korea after completing his schedule and vacationing in the US.
RM arrived at Incheon International Airport on Dec. 17 and was met by fans and the media at the arrival hall.
Korean media quoted him as saying, “It’s awkward because I am coming alone.” He arrived at the airport alone.
After finishing the “Jingle Ball” tour in the US, Jin, Jimin and Jungkook returned to Korea on Dec. 6. V came back on Dec. 9 after spending time with his family in Hawaii. J-Hope also returned home on Dec. 9 from the US. Suga is still in the US.
Like all travelers arriving in Korea, RM has started his 10-day quarantine as required by authorities due to the Omicron variant cases in the country. South Korea has tallied 166 Omicron variant cases as of Dec. 18, according to Yonhap News.
Koreans and foreigners who are allowed to stay in Korea for more than 90 days must undergo quarantine for 10 days and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests.
“Everyone, I started quarantine. Please recommend something to watch,” RM posted on the Weverse app on Dec. 17 after arriving in Korea.
In the US, RM visited museums and art galleries including the Whitney Museum of American Art, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, Dia:Beacon, Glenstone Museum, National Gallery of Art, The Menil Collection, The Museum of Fine Arts-Houston and Chinati Foundation and he even visited Malibu beach.
Last Dec. 6, Big Hit Music announced that BTS members would go on vacation, their “second official extended period of rest since their first in 2019, after they complete their official scheduled events of ‘BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE-LA’ and the ‘2021 Jingle Ball Tour..’”
“This period of rest will provide the members of BTS who have tirelessly committed themselves to their activities, a chance to get re-inspired and recharge with creative energy. It will also be the first time for them since their debut to spend the holiday season with their families,” it added.
It said, “We kindly ask once again that you show consideration for their need to enjoy ordinary and free, everyday lives while solely concentrating on themselves, albeit for a short while, during their period of rest.”
“BTS will be focusing on preparing for the concert and release of the new album that will mark the beginning of a ‘new chapter.’ They are preparing for a concert this coming March to connect and communicate with the fans in-person in Seoul,” the agency said.
