"Damage wrought by Typhoon Odette has been extensive. We are converting our Campaign Volunteer Center, along Katipunan Ave., Quezon City, to receive relief goods effective today," Robredo announced on her Facebook page on Friday, Dec. 17.

With this, the Vice President started appealing for donations of "urgent relief goods" such as blankets, hygiene items (shampoo, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, sanitary napkins), bottled water, face masks, alcohol (in 250 or 500ml), rice, and ready-to-eat food (easy-to-open canned goods, instant noodles, biscuits, powdered drinks, cereal drinks).

Robredo said donors can now start dropping off their in kind donations at the relief operations center. She also said that her office has partnered with Tanging Yaman Foundation for those who want to donate cash assistance.

"As we speak, ongoing po ang meetings and close coordination with AFP (Armed Forces of the Philippines), PNP (Philippines National Police), and other units na makakatulong sa rescue operations natin (that can help in our rescue operations)," Robredo said as she gave an update on their relief operations via a pre-recorded video Friday.

She also called for volunteers to repack donations at the relief center.

The Vice President also heed to the call of fellow presidential candidate Senator Manny Pacquiao to work together in providing assistance to the typhoon victims.

"I appeal to my fellow candidates, VP Leni Robredo, Bongbong Marcos, Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso, Senator Ping Lacson, Ka Leody (De Guzman) that due to the devastation of typhoon dette that we set aside all politics and join together all our resources to help our fellow Filipinos in Visayas and Mindanao. Magsama-sama tayo upang tulungan ang ating mga kababayan na nasalanta ng bagyo (Let's work together to help our fellowmen affected by the typhoon). Now is the time to come together as one," Pacquiao said on Twitter.

Robredo replied to this call saying, "Joining you in this call, Sen. Manny."
