Indonesia fighter Paul Lumihi is embracing the underdog status against Jhanlo Sangiao despite being a veteran in the cage.
While all the hype and attention revolves around Jhanlo, the 19-year-old son of Team Lakay coach Mark, Lumihi understands his assignment very well and is out to prove that he isn't out the game just yet.

"I understand that all eyes are on Jhanlo and all the attention is on Jhanlo, and at this point, I'm becoming the underdog. But I'm driven to show that an underdog will win," said Lumihi, who is currently on a four-match skid since May 2019.
"I'm consciously watching over Jhanlo's ground fighting because in previous fights, I've seen him very good on the ground."
Lumihi also believes that there's no room for complacency against Sangiao, a newcomer in the professional scene who had a 3-0 record in the amateur level.
Having been surrounded and trained by fellow champions in Team Lakay such as Joshua Pacio, Eduard Folayang, Kevin Belington, among others, Jhanlo made his dream of becoming a mixed martial artist himself.
And this is just one of the many factors that Lumihi is watching out for against the ONE newcomer.
"Jhanlo's ground fighting is different because Team Lakay is known for their striking. From all of Jhanlo's wins, all of those were by submission, so I know that's one end that I have to be cautious on. But the thing is I'm anticipating that and working on defending it, so I have no question that this fight is going to be epic," said the Indonesian fighter.
On top of that, this would be Lumihi's chance to redeem himself and pump life to his sliding MMA career.
He has yet to win a match in ONE Championship since joining in 2019.
"Though I've lost four times, I've faced great athletes. I think this is a chance for me because this gives me an opportunity to prove myself," said Lumihi.
"I have no angry feelings towards this because I know that this is business and I know that Jhanlo is young and strong and it's for that reason that all eyes are on him and I have no problem with that. I just want to show that I want to win."
Lumihi and Sangiao will clash in ONE: Winter Warriors tonight at the Singapore Indoor Stadium as fellow Team Lakay warriors Belingon, Danny Kingad, and Stephen Loman make their way in the Circle.
