Moro civic leader and Aksyon Demokratiko senatorial candidate Samira Gutoc has called for a “united action” to help the victims of Super Typhoon Odette.
“Lahat ng tulong at suporta para sa mga apektado ng Bagyong Odette, makakatulong po sa ating mga kababayan. Wala pa pong linya ng komunikasyon sa maraming lugar sa Surigao del Norte (All the assistance and support intended for those affected by Typhoon Odette would really help our countrymen. There are still no communication lines in many places in Surigao del Norte),” she said in a Facebook post.
“Sa mga may impormasyon sa ating mga kababayan doon, mag-comment o magpadala po kayo ng mga larawan dito para sa ating ilang kababayang nag-aalala sa kanilang mga pamilya simula kahapong humagupit ang Bagyong Odette (For those who have information on our fellow citizens there, please comment or send pictures here for some of our compatriots who have been worried about their families since Typhoon Odette hit yesterday),” she added.
Gutoc said individuals who will send donations for typhoon victims may go to “Ako Bakwit” headquarters at Fully Guaranteed Research Building, No. 3 San Francisco St., Barangay Kapitolyo in Pasig City.
“It is unfortunate that as we brace the last two weeks of this year, our kababayans are now losing their homes and properties. Let us continue to pray for safety!,” Gutoc said.
Meanwhile, senatorial candidate Dr. Carl Balita directed his review centers nationwide to conduct free lectures as a way of raising funds for the typhoon victims in the Visayas and Mindanao.
“Sa pagkalap ng donasyon, nakakapagpaabot ng tulong direkta sa mga nasalanta sa tulong na rin ng mga branches ng CBRC. Ang libreng online review ay isasagawa upang makakalap ng donasyon kapalit ng review lectures ni Dr. Carl Balita at ng mga topnotchers ng CBRC (By collecting donations, assistance can be extended directly to the victims with the help of CBRC branches. The free online review will be conducted to raise donations in exchange for the review lectures by Dr. Carl News and the topnotchers of the CBRC),” Balita said in a Facebook post.
The Carl Balita Review Center (CBRC) will hold “Free Lectures for a Cause” beginning Dec. 17 thru the Facebook live and YouTube accounts of Balita.
