DOH allocates medicines, supplies in areas affected by 'Odette'

The Department of Health (DOH) said it allocated P12.3 million worth of medicines and other supplies needed in areas that were hit by typhoon “Odette.”
“Meron po tayong P12.3 million worth of medicines, assorted medical supplies, hygiene kits, and ibang COVID-19 supplies na prepositioned ng ating regional DOH (We have P12.3 million worth of medicines, assorted medical supplies, hygiene kits, and other COVID-19 supplies prepositioned by our regional DOH),” said Health Secretary Francisco Duque III during the Malacanang briefing aired on Friday night, Dec. 17.
“Patuloy na susuriin ang pangangailangan ng apektadong rehiyon upang makapagbigay ng mga dagdag na tulong (The needs of the affected regions will continue to be assessed to provide additional assistance),” he added.
Duque assured that the DOH will continue to monitor the situation in the typhoon-hit areas.
“Ang DOH health emergency management bureau ay patuloy na nagmomonitor ng health emergencies at nakahanda po ang ating response teams for deployment kung kinakailangan (The DOH health emergency management bureau continues to monitor health emergencies and our response teams are ready for deployment if necessary),” he said.
“Meron din tayong mga human resources for health para tumulong sa disaster assessment ng health facilities (We also have human resources for health to assist in the disaster assessment of health facilities),” he added.
“Patuloy din ang ating pakikipag ugnayan sa mga LGUs upang maiabot natin ang health services and masiguro na efficient and coordinated ang emergency response natin sa mga komunidad (We will also continue to coordinate with the LGUs so that we can provide the health services and ensure that our emergency response to the communities is efficient and coordinated),” he furthered.
