BBM-Sara UniTeam volunteers prepare aid for people affected by 'Odette'

Amid pressure on presidential aspirants to set aside campaigning and join hands to help those affected by Typhoon "Odette," the camp of UniTeam alliance, composed of presidential wannabe Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. and vice presidential candidate Sara Duterte-Carpio, said Friday that the duo tapped their network of volunteers for the distribution of relief goods to the victims.

The alliance said its volunteers already prepared relief packages containing five kilograms of rice, assorted canned goods, milk and instant coffee, which are now ready for distribution.

"Nakaalerto na ang mga volunteers ng BBM-Sara UniTeam na magsitungo at ipamahagi ang mga tulong na ito (The volunteers are already alerted to go the affected areas and distribute the aid)," the UniTeam camp said.

"Nakamonitor ang aming opisina sa bagyong Odette at tinitignan natin kung ano pa ang mga kakailanganing tulong ng mga nasalanta. Sa kasalukuyan ay nakikipag-ugnayan na rin tayo sa mga lokal na pamahalaan para agad na maihatid ang mga tulong na ito (Our office is also monitoring the development of the typhoon at we'll see how we can further help those affected. Right now, we're coordinating with various local government units to know how we can immediately bring help)," it added.

Particularly, UniTeam said, it has prepared 6,000 relief packages for Samar; 6,000 for Leyte; and 6,000 for Masbate. Volunteers are preparing othe batches of relief goods for distribution to other affected areas.
