DAVAO CITY - Power outages were experienced in several areas in Caraga region as Typhoon Odette hit Mindanao on Thursday, Dec. 16.
The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines said as of 10:08 AM, an outage occurred in the Butuan-Bayugan 69kV due to strong winds and rains in the area.
At 10:39 AM, a power outage was also reported in the San Franciso-Alegria 69kV line affecting Agusan del Sur Electric Cooperative's (ASELCO) substations in Alegria, Philsaga, Pisaan and Talacogon. The NGCP said ASELCO's Trento Substation also had a power outage as of 11:36 AM.
A power interruption also affected parts of Surigao del Sur served by the Surigao del Sur II Electric Cooperative (SURSECO 2), particularly the substations in Lianga, Cagwait, and Tandag as of 11:01 AM.
At 11:36 AM, the substations of Surigao del Sur I Electric Cooperative (SURSECO 1) in San Fernando, Barobo also recorded a power interruption due to the outage in the Bislig-San Fernando-Barobo 69kV and Bislig-Trento 69kV Lines.
In a Facebook post, ASELCO said the areas affected are the municipalities of Rosario, San Francisco, Prosperidad, Talacogon, San Luis, La Paz, and Loreto.
Meanwhile, the areas affected due to the blackout of Surseco 2 include the towns of Carrascal, Cantilan, Madrid, Carmen, Lanuza (CCMCL), Cortes, Tandag City, Tago, San Miguel, Bayabas, Cagwait, Marihatag, San Agustin, and Lianga.
