Radio broadcaster shot in Cebu City

CEBU CITY--A radio blocktimer here was shot by an unidentified assailant inside a public utility vehicle (PUV) past noon Thursday, Dec. 16.
Rico Osmeña was rushed to a private hospital.

Osmeña, who is also a correspondent of a national broadsheet, had just came from his radio program at dyLA when he was attacked.

The attack happened near Plaza Independencia, which is just several meters from the radio station.

Police Maj. Edgar Labe, chief of Cebu City Police Station 3, said a female passenger was wounded after she was hit by a stray bullet.

Police said the PUV stopped along Urdaneta Street when a man boarded the passenger vehicle and suddenly shot the Osmena.

The mediaman was conscious when he was rushed to the hospital, police said.
