Onic Philippines head coach Denver “Yeb” Miranda and team captain Allen “Baloyskie” Baloy had nothing but praises for Jaylord “Hatred” Gonzales especially with his stellar run so far in his new position as the squad’s mid-laner.

His move to the position four role worked wonders for Onic PH with the former jungler and gold laner providing solid contributions, none bigger than his efforts to help the MPL PH Season 8 runners-up drop strong contenders RRQ Hoshi to the lower bracket.
“Sulit yung pag give way ko kay hate ng pos 4. Lakas,” said Baloyskie who took to Twitter to show his appreciation to his teammate who took the cudgels for him as he transitioned to the position five or the tank/roaming role.
Hatred unleashed another solid showing for the PH bets where he finished a 3-1-5 and 2-3-4 KDAs to go along with crucial pick offs on the Indonesian’s core heroes using a mid-lane damage build Chou in the first two games of their 3-0 sweep of RRQ.
Hatred, however, shone in the winner-take-all Game 3 as Onic PH leaned on his Pharsa to anchor their base defense which withstood three Luminous Lord marches with the team’s base, the only one left standing.
Hatred held the fort for Onic PH until Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol on the Natan and Marky “Markyyy” Capacio on the Harith were strong enough to peel RRQ heroes one-by-one.
Coach Yeb for his part, was not exactly surprised with his ward’s performance as he already knew that Hatred really had that capability to perform well under the bright lights of the world stage.
“Sobrang lakas ni Hatred kahit dati pa,” said Coach Yeb during an interview with the PH casters in the Filipinos stream of the tournament.
“Sobrang saya niya sa position niya ngayon and sobrang saya ko na gumagana rin sya,” he added.
Coach Yeb’s ploy had been nothing but a brilliant move if the journey of Onic PH so far in the M3 would be the basis. The crew turned doubters into believers after a dominant playoff run that already brought them to the upper bracket finals and one step-away from the Grand Finals.
“After MPL, naisip kong lineup which is yung ngayon tapos gagamitin ko sya for Season 9. Triny ko na sya bago lumipad dito sa M3, switching -witching kami eh gumagana tlaga siya so ‘yun na yung ginamit ko dito,” Coach Yeb explained.
The new look Onic has one more hurdle to overcome when it takes on the winner between BloodThirstyKings and EVOS SG to take the first seat to the Grand Finals.
