Miss World's Julia Morley on contestant who tested positive for COVID-19

The Miss World organization has released a statement following rumors that one of the candidates in this year's edition of the beauty pageant has tested positive for COVID-19.
In an article published on Puerto Rico-based newspaper Primera Hora, and translated to English by Pageanthology 101, the official statement featured Miss World Organization chairman and CEO Julia Morley's message.
"The Miss World Organization is following national guidelines. If they don't produce a negative molecular PCR test, they won't be on stage for the final show," Morley reportedly said.
Apparently, there's one confirmed case and seven candidates undergoing isolation and waiting for their test results.
"Knowing the seriousness of this global situation that we all face, we took steps to capture the unique talent of each contestant so that, in case they couldn't join us last night, they could still win the crown as Miss World 2021. The panel of judges will review your pre-recorded video content to make their final decision."
Later, Morley assured that they have been following safety protocols to avoid the spread of the deadly virus.
"We want to assure everyone that the Miss World Organization from day 1 has implemented a strict and aggressive protocol of taking samples from all candidates through molecular PCR tests," she said.
"We are an experienced and responsible global organization that is very excited to celebrate our 70th anniversary in Puerto Rico and we remain dedicated to the health and safety of our participants and the people of Puerto Rico."
Tracy Perez is the representative of the country in the said annual beauty pageant.
Recently, her Beauty with a Purpose project has been selected as Top 6 finalist along with that of England, India, Kenya, South Africa, and United States.
The finals will happen at Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan, Puerto Rico on Dec. 16 (Dec. 17 Philippine time).
