Las Pinas City Mayor Imelda Aguilar said the active COVID-19 cases in the city are now down to 16 but advised the residents to stay vigilant in the fight against the virus.
Aguilar told the residents to continue observing the basic health protocols as the Department of Health (DOH) confirmed on Dec. 15 the detection of two cases of Omicron variant in the country.
She said the City Health Office (CHO) recorded on Dec. 14 two new active cases in Barangay Zapote and Almanza Uno.
The mayor said the COVID-19 cases in other barangays were being attended to by doctors and nurses from the CHO to ensure their immediate recovery.
The CHO has so far recorded a total of 29,668 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 28,943 recoveries, and 709 deaths in the city.
Aguilar reiterated her call on the residents to be cautious, especially during Christmas celebrations to prevent the spread of the dreaded disease.
