Some 2,000 urban poor on Wednesday, Dec. 15, held a pink procession for the traditional annual Panunuluyan, which is a commemoration of the Nativity story, to show their support for the presidential bid of Vice President Leni Robredo.

Supporters lined up the E. Rodriguez Avenue in Quezon City wearing pink shirts and holding pink parols as a procession of people, all in pink shirts and holding pink parols, passed. Leading the procession was a car carrying “Joseph and Mary” and a big pink parol that “symbolizes hope.”
The procession started from the Office of the Vice President (OVP) and proceeded to the Immaculate Conception Cathedral of Cubao.
It was followed by a 10 a.m. mass officiated by running priest Fr. Robert Reyes, who openly expressed support for Robredo’s presidential bid.
"Ang puso ko ay kulay pink (My heart is color pink)!,” he said, noting that Robredo is the only presidential candidate who cared for the marginalized sector even before she announced her presidential bid. The priest also said Robredo is the only "moral choice" among the presidential candidates.

Reyes called on the public not to listen to hearsay by the “dictator.”
“Diktador na pumatay, diktador na nagkontrol sa media, diktador na nagnakaw hindi lang ng kayamanan kundi pati kalayaan (Dictator who killed, dictator who controlled the media, dictator who stole not only riches but even freedom),” Reyes said without naming names.
In Christianity, the annual Panunuluyan is a traditional play during the Christmas season to depict the time that Joseph and Mary searched for a place where the Virgin Mary can give birth to Jesus Christ. The Panunuluyan ends up in the Church where a huge Belen is placed in front of the altar.
