More than 100 children got their early Christmas gifts through a community outreach program initiated by Marikina City Police Station at Starlight Gym in Nangka, Marikina City on Tuesday.
The Pamaskong Handog program was held in partnership with the Eastern Police District (EPD) and Bless Our Cops (BOC) Movement.
The children, together with their parents, were given food packs, school supplies, cash and even safety tip flyers as Christmas gifts.
Lt. Col. Anthony Gantang, along with Sub-station 5 officer-in-charge Lt. Darwin Boiser, led the activity that aimed at providing Christmas spirit to the children – most of them were deprived of fun at the height of COVID-pandemic.
“Bless Our Cops (BOC) has always been an active partner of PNP in helping the cops to reinforce a positive approach towards life, to their family and to the people they are bound to serve,” read the Marikina PNP React’s Facebook post.
On Dec. 11, Anti-Crime and Community Emergency Response Team (ACCERT) Marikina chapter and Marikina City Police Station (MCPS) also conducted a Christmas community program wherein a total of 500 children benefited from their generosity.
