Go commends AFP officers for their contributions and sacrifices to Filipinos
Senator Christopher Lawrence Go on Wednesday, Dec. 15 thanked and commended Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) officers for their selfless contributions and sacrifices in the service of the Filipino nation.
Go issued the statement during a public hearing by the Committee of National Defense of the Commission on Appointments (CA) on the fitness of AFP officers to be the appointed a higher rank.
‘’We like to thank each and every one of you for your unmatched service to the Filipino nation and to the people. Thank you for your service especially during this time of the pandemic. Our countrymen need your help,” Go said.
The CA confirmed the appointments of 21 generals and senior officers of the AFP during its plenary session presided by Senate President Vicente C. Sotto III, concurrent CA chairman.
Lieutenant Generals Alfredo V. Rosario Jr. and Robert C. Dauz headed the group of 21 that also included two Major Generals, four Brigadier Generals and 13 colonels
During the CA committee public hearing,,Senator Joel Villanueva expresses his support for the confirmation of AFP Deputy Chief of Staff for Civil Military Operations Nolasco Mempin as major general.
Villanueva said Mempin, who also hails from his home province Bulacan, "truly deserves" his promotion for his achievements and service in the military of 35 years.
"I am proud that another fellow Bulakenyo is excelling in his chosen field,"he said.
