Police rescued two Chinese nationals and their Filipino companion from six alleged members of a kidnap-for-ransom group in Las Pinas City on Tuesday night.
Southern Police District (SPD) director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg identified the victims as HuanXiao Long, 31; Liang Bo Da, 35, both Chinese; and Krizia Estrilla, 19.
The victims’ alleged abductors -- Xing Juntao, 32, also a Chinese national; Michael Vargas, 24; Ellerie Jsvier, 40; Elson Obligar, 38; Ronald Desuasido and Marianetter Salazar -- were arrested during the operation, Macaraeg said.
The Las Pinas City Police launched the rescue operation after receiving a telephone call at about 11:30 p.m., reporting that two Chinese nationals and a Filipino companion were forcibly taken by armed men riding a white Toyota Grandia with plate number NAR-721 in front of Pilar Development Corporation Xin Chuang Building in Barangay Almanza Uno, Las Pinas City.
The cops successfully rescued the victims and placed their kidnappers under arrest.
Police recovered from the suspects a .45-caliber American Classic II pistol, one .45-caliber Armscor pistol with two loaded magazines, and one Shooters Commodore with two magazines and 20 live ammunition.
The suspects are now detained at the Las Pinas Police custodial facility. Charges of kidnapping with ransom, robbery, and illegal possession of firearms will be filed against them.
