Pacquiao cites qualities of governance team: Competence, integrity and dedication to country
Presidential aspirant Sen. Manny Pacquiao disclosed on Tuesday, Dec. 14 that people who share the same qualities of the team that catapulted him to international boxing fame will be tapped to comprise his Cabinet and other officials of the executive department if he wins the presidency.

Pacquiao pointed out that he became the world's only eight division world boxing champion not only because of hard work and discipline but because he had a world-class, competent and dedicated training staff led by Freddy Roach and Buboy Fernandez.
"Hindi naman ako magiging world champion kung di magagaling at hindi committed ang aking training staff. Ganyan din ang gagawin natin sa gobyerno. (I would have not become a world champion if my training staff was not good and not dedicated) I will put men and women who are experts in their departments,” He said.
"If elected to the presidency, my economic team composed of respected and competent people will implement a sound and viable economic development program that will truly address the poverty issue by creating more employment opportunities," he added.
This early, Team Pacquiao had already put up an interim economic team to be lead by his campaign manager, Salvador “Buddy” Zamora.
Zamora is a successful businessman who has made it big in mining, banking, agriculture and telecommunications.
Pacquiao said Mimo Osmeña, the chairman of the Cebu-base Promdi political party, will also be tapped to join his team.
Osmeña is the son if former Cebu Gov. Lito Atienza, the architect of the Ceboom program that led to the swift economic progress of Cebu province.
The young Osmeña holds degrees in BS Physics and MBA Marketing from San Francisco State University. He is also president of MRC Allied Industries which is into property development. He is also a Trustee of Cebu International School.
Pacquiao has also recruited Noel "Toti" Cariño to help him realize his goal of providing free housing for the poor. Cariño is the chairman and president of Fil-Estate Realty Corporation which has put up a number of subdivisions in the country.
The senator has likewise tapped Gary Vasquez, a pioneer in manufacturing prefabricated homes for low- to middle-income classes, as part of his economic team.
Also being considered are Banking and insurance expert Luis Benitez, a former Senior Partner in SGV, and Dean Cambe, a former member of the US Navy who now owns and manages VIP Jet Services in the US, a company engaged in leasing jets and helicopters.
He would also reach out to UP Professor and Political scientist Dr. Clarita Carlos to help him deal with the WPS issue. He noted that Dr. Carlos' view on the WPS issue is in line with his position that constant bilateral and multilateral dialogues hold the key to securing a favorable resolution of the conflict, which if managed properly can bring immense wealth to the country.
