Sorsogon Gov. Francis "Chiz" Escudero is the top preferred senatorial aspirant in the 2022 national elections, based on the latest PUBLiCUS Asia survey results released on Monday, Dec. 13.

In PUBLiCUS Asia's Pahayag Quarter 4 survey, which ran from Dec. 6 to 10, 57 percent of 1,500 respondents picked Escudero as their choice for senator.

Escudero kept his number 1 ranking from the Pahayag Quarter 3 polls.

In the latest survey, Escudero is followed by President Duterte with 56 percent.

Also in the top five spots were Taguig-Pateros Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano with 45 percent, television personality Raffy Tulfo with 42 percent, and Senator Sherwin Gatchalian with 42 percent.

PUBLiCUS Asia said the entry of President Duterte has made the race even "more crowded."

"Other late entries that appear to have altered the race dynamics include Guillermo Eleazar (~26 percent) and Harry Roque (~24 percent)," the pollster said.

It explained that the Pahayag Quarter 4 used purposive sampling comprised of respondents that were randomly drawn from a market research panel of Filipino voters, guided by statistics generated from official Commission on Elections data.
