Beatrice Luigi Gomez invites Miss Universe Harnaaz Sandhu to visit PH

Miss Universe 2021 Top 5 finisher Beatrice Luigi Gomez has said she immensely enjoyed her journey to Israel, as she invited this year's winner Harnaaz Sandhu of India to visit the Philippines soon.

During a Zoom interview organized by Voltaire Tayag of the Miss Universe Philippines Organization prior to the beauty queen's arrival in Manila on Dec. 15, Bea said that she's proud of Harnaaz because they were group mates during the competition.

"Magkakasama kami sa a group sa Miss Universe - ako, Miss India, Miss Singapore and Miss Nepal. We really help one another like kung may difficulty sa mga outfit namin, nagtutulungan talaga kami," Bea recalled.

Bea added: "I invited her to visit the Philippines soon. And she invited us to visit India, too! I told her I am proud of our group." The Cebuana beauty queen said the Indian beauty queen would be based in New York during her reign.

Asked what made Harnaaz a winner, Bea said: "She has strong beliefs, she has the dedication, and she works very hard. At her age, pagnahihirapan siya, she tries her best. She's a very strong woman, and that's what makes her a standout."

She also admitted that the cheer of Filipino judge Marian Rivera really caught her attention.

"Kapag nakikita ko yung cheer ni Marian, talagang natutuwa ako at nawawala ako. Kahit talagang bawal sa mga judge ang mag cheer for their country delegates, nagcheer pa rin talaga siya for me. Sinabi niya hindi raw nawawala yung smile ko during the preliminaries. That's the real reason," she said.

Bea also revealed she really got nervous during the top 5 Q&A portion. "Ninerbyos talaga ako sa Q&A pero nasabi ko naman yung gusto kong sabihin."

The reigning Miss Universe Philippines said that she's proud of her Top 5 achievement.

When asked who among the other candidates should be in the top 16, Bea said: "I was surprised wala si Miss Costa Rica. Siya lang naman."

Bea said she's excited to celebrate the holidays with her family. "Finally, I will see my family again. I will celebrate Christmas with them."
