Li was arrested after receiving a package from a Lalamove rider who sought police assistance after discovering that the package contained shabu.

According to the Taguig Police, at about 2:59 p.m. on Dec. 13, the Lalamove rider picked up the parcel in the Baclaran area.

As a matter of protocol, upon receiving the parcel from the sender named Xiaofei, he was about to take a photo of the parcel but the sender refused and instead gave him P100.

When the rider arrived at the McKinley West area in Taguig, the receiver could not be found at the location.

He became suspicious after the suspect changed the drop-off points several times.

At this point, the rider checked the parcel and discovered one transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) inside. He immediately sought the assistance of the police that resulted in the arrest of the receiver of the parcel.

The incident was coordinated with the Taguig police’s Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU). An entrapment operation was set up for the arrest of the sender but it turned futile.

Suspect Li was brought to the Taguig DEU for investigation while the confiscated evidence was turned over to the Southern Police District Forensic Unit.
