2GO vaccinates 96% of workforce

The Philippine’s largest transportation and logistics provider, 2GO Group, Inc., completed its COVID- 19 vaccination drive after inoculating 96 percent of its workforce.

“As a company operating in an essential industry, transporting passengers and ensuring an unhampered supply chain in the country, we prioritize health and safety in all worksites and business locations," 2GO president and chief executive officer Frederic DyBuncio said Tuesday, Dec. 14.

"This move also safeguards our customers, our passengers and the general public,” he stressed.

A majority-owned subsidiary of SM Investments Corporation, 2GO coordinated with its parent company as well as various local government units (LGUs) in vaccinating its employees.

SM Supermalls, in partnership with LGUs, facilitated a multi-mall COVID-19 vaccination drive, where over six million COVID-19 doses were administered todate.

Overall, “We have inoculated 98 percent of our employees in the National Capital Region (NCR) Plus, where the risk of transmission is higher. Our provincial vaccination has achieved over 95 percent vaccination rate with LGU coordination," according to 2GO vice president for Human Resources Viola De Jesus.

Furthermore "We have accomplished a 100 percent inoculation of our seafarers, onboard personnel, ticketing agents, drivers and riders,” he added.

Aside from the vaccination initiatives, 2GO Cares provided free testing, personal protective equipment, health insurance coverage, meal and connectivity allowance, shuttle services, plus wellness programs to workers since the onset of the pandemic.

The 2GO Group Inc. covers five business units - 2GO Sea Solutions, 2GO Special Containers, 2GO Logistics, 2GO Distribution and 2GO Express.

2GO is a subsidiary of SM Investments Corporation, one of the largest conglomerates in the country.

It offers multimodal transportation, warehousing and inventory management, distribution, special containers, and project logistics as well as e-commerce logistics, including last-mile deliveries, and express courier deliveries.

2GO also provides sea travel and peripheral logistics, such as freight forwarding, import and export processing, as well as customs brokerage.
