San Juan LGU distributes cash aid, food packs to Brgy. Rivera fire victims
The San Juan City local government on Monday distributed financial aid and other forms of assistance to the victims of the fire that hit a residential area in Brgy. Rivera on Dec. 6.
In his Facebook Live, San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora, together with his sister, Atty. Bel Zamora, and Vice Mayor Warren Villa, led the distribution at the City Treasurer's Office.
Zamora said that each affected family received P15,000 financial aid from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the local government unit (LGU), hygiene kits, three disaster boxes, and food and water provision.
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the fire started at 9:34 a.m. and was declared fire out at 10:52 a.m.
A total of 10 houses and establishments were damaged by the fire with damage to property estimated at P600,000.
The BFP said that 28 families or 103 individuals were affected by the fire.
